The Commercial Art World has deflated so I am going to Barcelona
So, I’ve been realy busy since getting back from the Politaoke Tour, moving back to Berlin. Then there was the Akademie der Kunst and back to school at the UdK Berlin, Berlinale, Transmediale and every other kind of -ale there is.
I have a show coming up in Barcelona that I’ve been preparing for, but in the meantime, the New York Times has announced that the commercial art boom is once again dead and art can live again
Will there be a rise of content over asthetism? Will new mechanisms be made in order for artists to sell their work without the gallery?

I’ve been busy and it only seems to be getting worse!

Otherwise, I’ve been so busy with preparations for grad school and scholarship applications. I’m still working on the next screening and a few other new projects, once I have more to say I will write more regularly.

Art Salon on Friday June 8th at Kay Salon
Now I am too lazy to translate this (click read more), but all I have to say is that Kay Uwe has given me the greatest haircuts of my entire life and knows how to throw a lovely soiree, finger foods included. My suggestion, forget the art, check out the salon and make an appointment, you will not be dissappointed! The opening starts at 8 pm.

On my visit to the states, I decided to stop by the National Museum of Women in the Arts to check out their Book as Art exhibit. Much to my dismay, I found the exhibition a bit fragmented and not completely coherent. Sometimes it felt a bit like Mädchen Kunst, but at least the Free Masons are rolling over in their graves. The NMWA’s home is a former Masonic Temple.

Two weeks ago on my day off, I decided to visit Mitte to pick up a copy of A Man Without a Country by Kurt Vonnegut. Fabulous book by the way, buy it for someone you love for Christmas, they will not be disappointed. So before my lunch date with the Mindgardening member of Pheedelity I decided to see the shows I missed the last time I traveled to Brunnenstrasse.
